GRD Engineering Services Ltd is a limited liability company owned by Kelvin Gray.
History of GRD
Kelvin has over 30 + years' experience in fitting, turning, maintenance and production engineering to draw on.
Kelvin founded GRD Engineering Services Ltd in 2000 and had steadily grown the business to employ five staff and own a extensive range of CNC and manual engineering machinery.
As a manufacturer of a large range of it`s own products, GRD became less reliant on the Auckland environment to do business.
With the down turn in the manufacturing sector and the Auckland environment being at a premium, it was logical to down size and make the move to the better economical location of Manawatu.
GRD now offer all the same services from the Manawatu and enjoy a better way of life to go with it.
Kelvin maintains a hands-on role in the business and ensures that all work meets his exacting standards.

- 2 x CNC lathes all with live tooling and C axis. Maximum machining length: 1800mm between centres. Maximum machining diameter: 600mm.
- 2 x CNC machining centres. Largest machining envelope: 1300 x 700 x 700. Fourth axis rotary table with 105mm through spindle.
- Extensive range of specialised tooling and precision measuring equipment.
- Surface grinder with rotary grinding attachment.
- Conventional lathes and mills.
- Horizontal NC Bandsaw 460mm diameter.
- TIG welding equipment including Syncrowave welders and rotary welding jigs.
- Fabrication machinery.
- Induction hardening rig for specialised local-area hardening.
- Hydraulic test equipment.
- Clean room.
